What if life's purpose is about joy?
If you think about it, the motive behind every act of reaching for something is the desire to feel better, to feel good, to find joy; only the kind of joy I'm referring to isn't the state of happiness you feel when everything goes well for you.
I'm talking about the kind of joy that lives you as a Divine force, compelling you to move, to create, connect, lead, nurture, inspire and love… both fiercely… and kindly! It's also the deep peace that lovingly witnesses and embraces the complete breadth of life experience without resistance or unnecessary suffering.
This kind of joy is present no matter what, it is who we are and my experience is that living from this perspective requires developing something that horses teach us, something I call Heart Intelligence.
Heart Intelligence is the embodied skill of living from your heart rather than your head. It means knowing when your internal guidance is coming from your conditioning – from culture, religion, education, parents, peers - and when it's coming from your deepest truth; it means knowing which decision is right for you and knowing how to dissolve the defenses, that not only keep you from your joy, but also from having deep intimacy with others.
Horses ooze Heart Intelligence; these emotionally and socially intelligent creatures help you navigate the discovery of your true nature and embody horse wisdom. As they gently bring you to your reality of the present moment, in which all your power for change exists, they connect you to your wisest, most authentic, creative self. They connect you to your heart.
When you're living life from your heart you're vital and vibrant, you shine clear and bright, people (and horses!) light up in your presence and you literally magnetize to you all that you desire in life.
